About Legacy 500

The Legacy 500 is a next-generation business jet produced by Brazil’s Embraer Executive Jets and manufactured in Melbourne, Florida. In 2012, the new model completed its maiden flight. FAA certification for the model was received in 2014 and deliveries began later that year.

The Legacy 500 is equipped with an advanced fly-by-wire (FBW) flight control system, and Rockwell Collins Pro Line Fusion avionics technology. The EMB-550 cruises at a speed of 467 knots and has a maximum range of 3,450 miles.

A cabin volume of 1,098 cubic feet and baggage capacity of 150 cubic feet make the Legacy 500 the roomiest aircraft in the Super-Mid Jet category.  The fuselage has the same width and height as the Embraer Legacy 450, but the 500’s length is 2.9 feet greater.  The aircraft features a 9 passenger max payload in standard configuration, or up to 12 passengers in custom layouts.

Embraer Executive Jets formed a partnership with BMW Group Design Works USA to design to give the Legacy 500 a sophisticated and modern design. In addition, Honeywell’s Ovation Select Cabin Management System features full HD video, optional surround audio, and a wide range of connectivity options including high-speed data and Wi-Fi connection.
